SPECIAL USES

Header Water Drops

Foundation Wall Protection
(TYPICAL DESIGN)

An impermeable barrier can be placed where the permcon abuts masonry basement walls or older ring foundations to mitigate moisture ingress into CMU installations if required.

ASPHALT INTERFACE
(TYPICAL DESIGN)

A concrete nib is placed between the asphalt and permeable base to prevent moisture destabilising the asphalt basecourse and mitigating pavement deflection due to ‘pumping’.

SAW CUTTING
(TYPICAL DESIGN)

A saw cutting is used to control drying shrinkage in concrete by creating contraction joints that encourage the slab to crack in a controlled manner. These joints allow horizontal movement at right angles to the cut, relieving internal stresses that could otherwise lead to random cracking.

SLOPES
(TYPICAL DESIGN)

Maximum slopes before specific engineering required is 12%. For slopes over 5%, a baffle is recommended every 15m of slope length if the length exceeds 28m to interrupt the flow of water through the permeable base, preventing ‘bubble up’ ponding at the base of the slope.

Project Portfolio

Projects Across New Zealand

Take a look at our work across New Zealand. From busy concrete carparks to smaller permeable car park surfaces, our team has delivered practical solutions that work for the space and the people using it.

Each project is designed with care, using strong, water-permeable concrete that helps with drainage while standing up to daily wear. Whether it’s a commercial site, an industrial space, or a residential area, we create carparks that are easy to maintain and built for everyday use.

FAQs

Why should I choose permeable paving for my car park?

Permeable paving helps to reduce surface flooding, improve drainage, and supports the environment by preventing runoff from entering stormwater systems.

How does permeable paving work?

The surface is made from materials that allow water to pass through, which helps to control runoff and manage water more sustainably.

Is permeable paving suitable for heavy traffic areas?

Yes, permeable paving is designed to withstand heavy traffic and is durable enough for both commercial and industrial car parks.

Can permeable paving be used for driveways as well?

Yes, permeable paving is ideal for both car parks and driveways, providing a strong and water-efficient surface.

How long does permeable paving last?

When installed properly, permeable paving can last for many years, offering a durable and low-maintenance surface.

Does permeable paving require much maintenance?

Permeable paving is easy to maintain. Regular cleaning to prevent debris build-up and occasional maintenance to ensure proper drainage is usually all that’s needed.

What are the benefits of using permeable paving?

Permeable paving reduces water runoff, improves drainage, prevents flooding, and provides an environmentally friendly surface.

How is permeable paving different from regular paving?

Regular paving doesn’t allow water to drain through, which can cause flooding and increased runoff. Permeable paving is designed to manage water efficiently.

Can permeable paving be installed on existing car parks?

Yes, permeable paving can be retrofitted to existing car parks to improve drainage and reduce flooding.

What is the cost of installing a permeable paving car park?

The cost depends on the size of the area, materials used, and the specific design of the car park. We offer competitive pricing based on your needs

Is permeable paving suitable for all climates?

Yes, permeable paving works well in various climates, especially in areas that experience heavy rainfall or have drainage issues.

How does permeable paving help the environment?

By reducing runoff and allowing water to filter back into the ground, permeable paving helps to prevent water pollution and supports local ecosystems.

How quickly can a permeable paving car park be installed?

The installation time depends on the size and complexity of the project, but we work efficiently to complete the job on schedule.

Can permeable paving be used for decorative purposes?

Yes, permeable paving can be designed in different styles and colours to complement the look of your property, making it both functional and visually appealing.
